Supporting Great Britain’s brightest sporting prospects

Innovation Broking Ltd is delighted to announce that we are supporting 5 of GB’s most talented young athletes as they undertake their journey to being the best competitor they can be.
As founder members of the Good Sports Club we have partnered with leading sports charity SportsAid to identify, select and fund these brilliant young people for 12 months. SportsAid is dedicated to helping young British sportsmen and women aspiring to be the country’s next Olympic, Paralympic, Commonwealth and World champions.
SportsAid supports over 1,000 athletes each year – the vast majority aged 12 to 18 – by providing them with a financial award to help towards training and competition costs. This acts as a real motivational boost as it is often the first recognition they receive outside of their support network. Most of them rely heavily on their parents as they have no other funding.
These athletes are Great Britain’s brightest sporting prospects. They are nominated to SportsAid by the national governing bodies of more than 60 sports based on set criteria from each and the typical value of a SportsAid award is £1,000.
Our athletes are:
- Alex Franks, cycling from Isleworth
- Ella Rush, heptathlon from Derbyshire
- George Mills, 1500m runner from Hove
- Lucia Patterson, Taekwondo from Bury
- Sophie Peat, Fencing from Ashbourne
Innovation Broking has invested in supporting these inspirational people as part of our wider commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) programme. With this part of the strategy very much focused on the “S” we have become big supporters of our young stars and we couldn’t be more impressed by their dedication and focus on being the best they can be.
Whilst SportsAid’s alumni reads like a who’s who of GB sports stars, we are very conscious that not everyone that the scheme supports will win a gold medal but what is certain is that they represent the excellence and tenacity that we display in our business.
